J. Morgan Puett.

Tom often asks me what I would do if I won the lottery. I would obviously look after the whole family first and then move onto my list of dreams. One dream is to find a big enough space to house a creative hub where artists can come together and create.

Seventeen years ago J Morgan Puett a fashion designer did just that. She sold her 5 shops, packing the last one up in beeswax paper and left New York to set up an artist colony in Pennsylvania .

She called it Mildreds Lane.

All photographs Simon Upton.

And this is what she left behind....her shops, her life.

What a life.

I had better start playing the lottery.

Found via the gorgeous mothtails, who found it here.
