This painting is a little different from what I usually produce. Wallpaper forms the background, which I toned down other wise the gold flowers would have dominated the painting, then I used oil paints to bring out the peonies, and followed the leaves and vine and then added my own jade butterflies.
The peonies really jump out on this one, and have a tattoo feeling about them. The lines of the wallpaper are fairly classic, but the tattoo peonies give it a modern twist.
