Stephen Gallagher.

Photographs by Lucas Allen.

Found in an old Vogue Living magazine. Interesting work by Stephen Gallagher.

He is inspired by the Elizabethan period where ‘you’d have worn not just one jewel, but six strands of pearls, plus three broaches, and then you’d slash your gloves so you could still wear your rings and the jewels would be showing through. Everything was for show, for ornamentation, as an expression of wealth, and I guess a joy of life.’

I never need and excuse, I’m off up stairs to tackle my jewellery box….
